The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) is launching an Innovation Challenge aimed at promoting circular economy approaches in the renewable energy sector, specifically focusing on batteries and solar photovoltaic technologies, with significant funding opportunities for innovative solutions that enhance design, recycling, and operational management efficiencies, all while being based in India.

Benefits

• Winners receive funding based on innovation category
• Maximum financial support: Proof of concept up to INR 10 lakh, Potential up to INR 30 lakh, Proven up to INR 2 crore
• Financial support for each category: Proof of concept INR 50 lakh, Potential INR 1.5 crore, Proven INR 8 crore
• Funding can be used for upgrading TRLs and pilot implementation

Eligibility Criteria

• Technologies must be wholly based in India
• Product team and/or company must be located in India
• Must comply with market entry regulations and obtain relevant certifications
• Participants restricted by Indian laws are not eligible
• Technologies must align with one or more challenge themes: Design & manufacturing innovation, Second-life use and recycling innovation, Operational management innovation
