The Tokyo Financial Innovation Award, commissioned by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, invites global participants to propose creative and practical solutions to specific financial issues in Tokyo. With cash prizes of up to 18 million YEN and extensive support programs, this competition aims to spur innovation and collaboration within the financial industry.

Benefits

• Cash prizes of US$ 69,591 (10 million yen) for first place, US$ 34,795 (5 million yen) for second place, and US$ 20,877 (3 million yen) for third place
• Participants also benefit from extensive support programs, including preliminary seminars, mentoring sessions, business meetings, networking events, and business matching opportunities.
• Businesses that are selected for the final screening may also be asked to speak at events hosted by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government (TMG) and related organizations on a preferential basis.

Eligibility Criteria

• Applicants must address key challenges in the financial services sector
• Wish to explore the Japanese market and establish a base in Tokyo.
• Only one project per contestant is allowed
• The application must be submitted in either English or Japanese.
• Projects must demonstrate significant innovation within the competition's eligible themes listed on the program page.
