The Purple Line Small Business Grants Program, organized by the Maryland Department of Transportation, offers direct grants of up to $50,000 to eligible small businesses located along the Purple Line corridor to help offset the impact of construction closures or detours on their operations, with a deadline for applications set for March 14, 2025.

• Eligible businesses can receive direct grants of up to $50,000 to offset the impact of construction closures or detours on their operations. Grant funds can be used for various business-related expenses, and payments will generally be made within thirty days of grant award.

Eligibility Criteria

• Businesses must be in good standing with the Maryland State Department of Assessments and Taxation and federal and State taxing and licensing authorities. They must have been open and operational along the Purple Line alignment before January 1, 2022, and be located within one-quarter mile of the existing or future Purple Line Light Rail tracks. Small businesses with 50 or fewer employees or gross sales of $2,000,000 or less in the most recent three fiscal years are eligible.
