New Writing North is seeking nominations for the Young Northern Writers’ Awards, offering recognition and support to young writers in Northern England through various categories and tailored support packages, with the deadline set for February 6, 2025.

Benefits

• Young Northern Writers’ Awards: Winners receive £150 prize money, with up to two writers highly commended.
  Eva Ibbotson Award: Winner receives a tailored support package worth £500, which could include mentoring, course enrollment, books, or festival passes.

Eligibility Criteria

• Young Northern Writers’ Awards: Open to young writers aged 11-18 in the North of England.
• Matthew Hale Award: Open to young writers who show promise but have had limited opportunities to pursue their talent, aged 11-18 in the North of England.
• Eva Ibbotson Award: Open to young writers aged 11-15 who are writing in English as a second language in the North of England.
