Startup Acceleration & Idea Launch (SAIL) Program 2026

About

A structured accelerator program offering 9 weeks of coursework followed by a pitch competition, designed for first-time entrepreneurs in the early stages of their business development. Participants will gain valuable resources, mentorship, and the chance to win startup capital to help launch their ideas.

Benefits

  Compete for startup capital with prizes of $4,000 for 1st place, $2,500 for 2nd place, and $1,500 for 3rd place.

  All participants receive The Guided Small Business Planner™ to assist in their business development.
• 📅Structured Coursework
  Engage in 9 weeks of structured coursework designed to prepare participants for the final pitch.
• 🎤Pitch Competition
  Participants will have the opportunity to present their ideas in a final in-person pitch competition.

Eligibility Criteria

• Residents of New Hanover or Pender County
• First-time entrepreneurs in the early planning/startup phase
• Idea developed within the last 6 months; no revenue generated yet

Participation Commitments

• Must participate in all 10 weeks of the program
• Attend the final in-person pitch competition
• Complete required one-on-one counseling during the program
