Sovereign AI's AIRR compute access round gives selected UK-based AI R&D startups up to 1,000,000 GPU hours on Isambard-AI and related national compute, plus technical onboarding from BriCS.

Benefits

• 💻Compute access
  For selected participants, up to 1,000,000 GPU hours per startup on the AI Research Resource (AIRR), including Isambard-AI; smaller allocations are available and the maximum is not a minimum requirement.
• ☁️ Cloud compute
  Cloud computing support is available where appropriate.
• 🛠️ Onboarding and support
  Hands-on technical onboarding and specialist support from the Bristol Centre for Supercomputing (BriCS), plus engagement with Sovereign AI as projects progress.
• 💸Cost
  Free at the point of access for eligible R&D.

Eligibility Criteria

• Mandatory: UK-based AI R&D; applicants must demonstrate substantive AI research and development activity in the United Kingdom.
• Priority focus: strategically significant AI in compute efficiency, next-generation models, health and life sciences, scientific discovery, trust and assurance, or dual-use systems.
• Assessed on: strategic relevance to UK capability, scaling pathway, technical quality and research ambition, and material compute requirement.

Participation Commitments

• Selected recipients undergo due diligence and are expected to comply with all applicable laws, including UK copyright law. No participation fee is stated; the offer is free at the point of access for eligible R&D.
