About

A competition designed for students with growth-stage business ideas, offering substantial cash prizes and mentorship opportunities to help refine and develop their ventures. Participants will go through multiple rounds, including a pitch presentation, and have the chance to connect with industry professionals and potential investors.

Eligibility Criteria

• Open to students from the University at Buffalo and the Western New York community
• Must have a business idea that is at a growth stage and showing initial traction
• Teams must meet with a UB CoLab Venture Coach prior to their Round 2 presentation
• Selected semifinalists must legally form the venture they are representing before the semi-finals
• Must submit a Pro Forma Cap Table prior to the Round 2 presentation

Participation Commitments

• Must attend information sessions prior to application
• Must submit applications by the specified deadline of January 7, 2026
• Selected teams must meet with a UB CoLab Venture Coach before Round 2
• Semifinalists must provide evidence of legal company formation before the semi-finals
