About

The UVA i.Lab Incubator 2026 offers a comprehensive support system for early-stage ventures, providing mentorship, funding opportunities, and resources to help teams of founders, particularly those connected to the University of Virginia, to validate their products and pursue revenue opportunities while fostering a collaborative community environment.

Benefits

• Baseline grant funding available from the Incubator and/or UVA entrepreneurship initiative for current student teams
  Immersion in the principles of effectuation.

Eligibility Criteria

• Team of 1-3 founders
• At least one founder is a full-time UVA student, faculty, staff, or alumni
• Venture traction through product validation, active pilot with potential customers, pursuing revenue opportunities
• In some situations, ventures working on scientific or medical products must demonstrate alternative progress, such as a non-provisional patent application or a scientific publication.

Participation Commitments

• Participation is counted by attendance, stakeholder updates, and goal progress
• Ventures are expected to commit a minimum of 35-40 hours per week on their venture
• Founders will be part of a supportive community, with tailored mentorship, workshops, peer collaboration, and funding per venture.
