VA Erzberg and EIT RawMaterials are inviting startups and research groups to propose sustainable methods for the future use of carbonate iron ore in Europe's largest open-pit iron ore mine through the VA Erzberg Net-Zero Challenge 2024.

Eligibility Criteria

• Startups, RTOs, and universities with advanced technologies (at least Level 5 on the TRL scale) or early-stage solutions offering innovative proofs of concept
• Solutions must address key challenges related to iron ore calcination and reduction, CO2 off-gas treatment, and byproduct valorisation
