A competition aimed at promoting innovative start-up ideas from African universities, encouraging participation from scientists, researchers, and students, while providing training and potential funding opportunities for selected projects.
Benefits
- πTraining in Business Model DevelopmentSelected start-up projects will receive partial funding for at least one team member to participate in a 10-day AGEA Start-up Class training on Innovative Business Models and Business Plan development at Leipzig University, Germany
- πPotential ResourcesAccess to potential resources from Germany, such as grants for technology development.
Eligibility Criteria
- Scientists (lecturers, professors, and researchers)
- Research students (Masters and Doctoral)
- Recent graduates (Masters or Doctorate)
- Must be from or affiliated to ACCESS universities in Ghana, Nigeria, Benin, Kenya, Rwanda, and Tunisia
- Participation can be as an individual or a team of students, scientists, and graduates
- The participation of women is highly encouraged
- An initial prototype, product model, or MVP should be available.
Participation Commitments
- Must provide relevant information about the innovative start-up project
- Must highlight the uniqueness of the technology and the solution it offers
- Must describe the underpinning scientific research conducted by you or a member of your team that has resulted in this business idea.
