Hatch is accepting applications until 6 November 2026, 11:00 PM SGT for a four-month Singapore public safety open innovation programme that awards selected global deep-tech startups S$100,000 in non-equity funding to co-develop and test proofs-of-concept with Home Team end-users.

Benefits

• Guaranteed for selected teams: S$100,000 prize money in non-equity, non-dilutive funding, disbursed in two tranches (50% after contract signing; 50% after submission of information for closing report); no equity taken and participants retain full and exclusive ownership of their information and intellectual property rights; structured four-month proof-of-concept validation pathway with direct access to Singapore public safety challenge owners, operational end-users and HTX technical experts; one-week in-person onboarding in Singapore; on-site testing and Demo Day in Singapore.
  Conditional/possible: successful proofs-of-concept may be fast-tracked or supported towards further development, operational trials and eventual deployment; around 40% of past successful POCs attracted follow-on interest, but completion does not guarantee a pilot, procurement or deployment.

Eligibility Criteria

• Mandatory: Open to deep-tech startups, university spin-outs and scale-ups from any country, technology domain, company size and funding stage, with no geographical or company-size restrictions.
• Technology should generally be at Technology Readiness Level 4–7, meaning a working prototype, not just a concept, that has not yet been tested in the intended public safety operational environment.
• Applicants must own the intellectual property behind the proposed solution or hold a valid licence to use it.
• Existing or market-ready products may qualify only if meaningful customisation for the selected challenge is proposed; purely off-the-shelf solutions without adaptation are not eligible.
• Preferred/selection factors: fit to challenge, novelty of technology, relevant team experience and business viability; applicants may apply to more than one challenge statement or under the Out-of-the-Box Innovative Technologies category if their solution does not map directly to a published challenge.

Participation Commitments

• Post-selection: sign a formal written agreement with Hatch.
• Develop a working proof-of-concept over approximately four months (March–July 2027) in collaboration with the assigned challenge owner and HTX technical stakeholders.
• Attend two separate one-week in-person trips to Singapore: onboarding/project scoping in March 2027 and on-site testing/Demo Day in July 2027; most development may be remote, but these in-person attendances are required.
• The S$100,000 prize money is intended to cover proof-of-concept development costs and required travel; no extra travel allowance is disbursed.
• No equity or intellectual property ownership is taken by Hatch; participants retain full and exclusive ownership of their information and intellectual property rights.
• Participation is non-exclusive, provided the team remains committed to fulfilling its Dimension X requirements.

Target Region

Worldwide; no geographical restrictions. Open to deep-tech startups from any country; applicants do not need to be based in Singapore during selection or throughout the entire proof-of-concept development period. Selected teams must be willing and able to conduct proof-of-concept development remotely and/or in Singapore, and must travel to Singapore for two one-week sessions: onboarding and on-site testing/Demo Day.
